55 years have passed since our founder missionary, Ms Evelyn Hatchett from America started the first Assemblies of God work in Penang and so aptly called it Penang First Assembly of God.

Penang First had humble beginnings. Ms Hatchett started with only a small group of Sunday School children in a rented house. Through the years the church can testify to God's faithfulness not only in its numerical growth, but more significantly, in its maturity as a body of believers. Today, God has blessed us with a vibrant and lively family church, with both young and old alike having a heart to serve one another and the community.

The new millennium brought a prophetic word from Isaiah 54:2 to "enlarge, stretch forth, lengthen and strengthen..." Presently, we are at the threshold of building a muilti-purpose ministry complex (MMC) in line with this call. It will be on a choice plot of land fronting the Penang channel along the promenade of the Jelutong Expressway.

The MMC project is very dear to the hearts of Penang First members - firsty, because it is a vision birthed by the Holy Spirit and secondly, it will serve to fulfill the mandate of the Great Commission. When it is completed, it will be a spiritual landmark to change the spiritual landscape of the island.
